   About Rosehill Mastiffs
We got our first mastiff in 1994...a handsome, apricot boy named Galahad, and have been owned by them ever since!  We are advocates of the show ring but as stated on our home page, our dogs are family first, and foremost!
We health test our dogs for a minimum of OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, CERF, PRA, Cardiac & Cystinuria before breeding.  We don't breed often but when we do we strive to produce healthy, happy, long living companions that will contribute to the breed as a whole.
We believe socialization is vital for the mastiffs wellbeing and happiness, as well as for their owners! The earlier the process begins the better.  You don't want to wait until you have a 100lb puppy to start introducing strange sounds and events...you might just find yourself on the wrong end of the leash!
We strive to stay up to date on the latest advances in research pertaining to health, and nutrition.  There are many schools of thought on feeding. Some prefer the raw diet..but many simply don't have the time it requires or the patience.  Some feed "natural" diet free of grain and including things like fruits and vegetables.  At Rosehill we simply recommend a food with the proper balance of nutrients for your mastiff which includes a protein level of 24% or less, fat 12 % or less and with additives for healthy joints, bones ,skin and eyes.  All mastiffs are different...what works for mine may not set well with yours. We believe as long as you stay with a high quality food that falls within the guidelines for protein and fat, you should be okay until you find what works for you and your mastiff!
